Hey!
My name is Sienna Sovereign, and I am the creator, the mind, and the hard work behind Dust in the Media.
If you read the 'About' page, you kind of know a piece of the backstory to how I ended up here. I am so happy to be here, and I'm so happy that you've given me some of your time to not only look over my page, but also to read my blogs. Throughout my blogs, I'm going to tell you some industry secrets, explain the pros behind hiring someone like me, and give you a little deep dive into well… Everything!
If you didn't read my 'About" page, but you really should, here's a quick recap:
What started as a little girl selling crafts and drawings quickly grew into a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship. Business has always been in my blood — from excelling in high school entrepreneurship (with a 99%) to earning my Red Seal in business.
After realizing traditional college wasn’t the right fit, I found my path at Athabasca University, where I’m now pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing. Along the way, I began building websites and managing social media — starting with Ebdon Racing, which grew to 5,000 TikTok followers in under six months.
From there, I expanded to managing and launching brands like Ontario Equine Education and Employment Program, Inglewood Pumps, and Herdy Co. Now, it’s time to focus on building my own — Dust in the Media.
Thanks for being part of the journey — and don’t get left in the dust.
Back to it, though, now you know my name, I'm 19 years old, I come from a long line of entrepreneurs, and I am surrounded by them in my life, my dad, both my grandfathers, my boyfriend's dad, my great-grandparents, my aunt, the list goes on! So to say that whoever bet on me to fall into this line, good bet, wanna share some of that? My parents are supportive and probably overwhelmed with the number of paths that I'm on in my life, from horses to school to my business and more. It's always something new to talk about. Watching my dad work his tail off while I was growing up and still to this day has been truly inspirational to me. I know I will never work harder than that man has, and I'm truly grateful for all the opportunities that he's given me. I can only see my mom laughing and rolling her eyes when I told her that I wanted to start this as a business. She has taken all of my crazy businesses throughout the years and supported me, whether it was cookies, crafts, jewelry, pictures, or whatever I was able to throw together. She was always there, buying me all of the supplies that you could think of, Mum, I'm grateful for that open wallet you've had to support me.
I have incredible friends in my life who are way more brilliant than I am. My one friend whose been by my side since my grade 9 year is now a blooming and flourishing hairdresser. My other friend, whom I also met in grade 9 in high school, is a brilliant student who is on course to be a project manager! These two girls have helped me along the way pick the right colours, reassure my decisions or tell me when things were a little bit out there. I have countless other friends that have surrounded me in my everyday life, some I've met through work, the horse world, or plain luck! My amazing boyfriend has been by my side to reassure me and support me regardless of whatever crazy project I'm on that day. He is the one who kick-started this for me by letting me design, start, and manage his website and social media for him while he was still racing. So to everybody in my life, thank you so much!
I have two of my own horses, which I compete on. I barrel race and I breakaway rope. I rodeo, but I do love a good barrel racing weekend! My boys are named Max and Jack! I started riding when I was 11, got my first horse at age 13, then Max at 16, and Jack a few months later! The horses have been the light of my life, and through all the ups and downs that I've had, they're the only ones to have never said anything that I didn't like. Well, I mean, they've never said anything, they can't talk. They're always just there, kinda all over me, which I'm OK with! They give me something to wake up to, something that I am responsible for other than myself. Being responsible for a living thing that cannot take care of itself is truly a gift from God and has taught me so many lessons. Even though they've emptied my wallet, I'm eternally grateful for them.
I'm currently enrolled in the University of Athabasca to obtain my Bachelor of Commerce with a Major in Marketing and a Minor in Psychology. I have two certificates, both marketing-backed, and I'm also planning a University certificate in Marketing. School has never been something I excelled at, but I was always able to find the positive side and the fun experience to it. I honestly owe it to my business teachers who constantly encouraged me, listened to me, and were there for me when I needed them, whether it was about my academics or about my personal life.
I'm so excited to start this journey. Whether you need a simple flyer or poster, you have an idea in mind, or you are ready to expand your business with a website and social media, reach out to me and let's get you growing! Don't Get Left In The Dust!
I appreciate all the support!
See ya soon!
